HISTORY - FROM 1871 TO THE PRESENT..
The adventure of Güllüoğlu baklavas begins in 1871, when Mehmet Çelebi and his wife Güllü Hanım went to Hijaz. Mehmet Çelebi, who met baklava makers in the cities of Damascus and Aleppo during the Hejaz journey on camels, decided to bring with them the perfect taste that would spread around the world over the years. On his return to Antep, Hacı Mehmet Çelebi, together with his son Mahmut, implemented the baklava profession he learned in Damascus in the small shop he kept in Uzunçarşı, Gaziantep, and transformed it into art by combining the intricacies of baklava making with his own talent and quality materials.
